As credit and debit card fees continue to rise, many of our medical office customers have elected to use our optional patented Credit/Debit Discount Program to replace their traditional styled processing. Our terminals can automatically add a credit/debit convenience fee of up to 3.75% to each transaction covering the costs of your processing and reducing or usually eliminating your merchant services expense.
Credit and debit card processing for Medical Offices
Credit card processing for Lasik providers
Many medical and dental practices pay for their credit card processing equipment through leases. However, this could be the single costliest mistake in the selection of your merchant services provider that your medical practice could make.
Did you know that most credit card processing leases run 3-5 years at $15-$75/month – and then often require a buy-out of the equipment at the end of the lease? Don’t pay thousands of dollars for equipment that you can purchase for $150-$450, or better yet, let IntraFirst provide your terminals at no cost to you.
We are in business for the long haul, not to fleece our customers with junk fees and added costs.
Medical and dental offices face a multitude of financial challenges today. These include the increased costs of operating a practice, time-consuming regulatory burdens, and hassles with getting paid by insurance companies and the ability to navigate these hurdles is not taught in medical or dental school. The +Medcredit program, by IntraFirst is more than just the old styled credit card processing program that was used in the past. It is designed for today's medical professional office manager. In addition to the best in-office and online processing, we bring a consumer finance program that almost all of your patients can qualify for while they are sitting in your waiting room.
Merchant accounts for Dentists and Orthodonists
It use to be that medical and dental professionals only had to do a great job treating patients and the world beat a path to their door. A doctor had to concentrate on being a good doctor, not a combination of doctor, lawyer, accountant, and management executive. But the world has changed and a medical practice is not what it used to be.
Now doctors have to think about the Merit-Based Incentive Payment System, weighing independence vs. employment, the consolidation of the major health-care payers, meaningful use stage 2/stage 3, certifications, HIPPA, the Affordable Care Act, and preventing data breaches.
Worrying about the costs of credit and debit card processing fees shouldn't be something else thrown on top of the pile.
Merchant processing for Medical Spas
Our QuickLend consumer financing program is a perfect fit for medical and dental offices. Many medical offices offer consumer financing (often through Care Credit/Synchrony Bank/GE Capital) but they are missing out on 20% or more of their potential customers. Most banks and consumer finance companies will approve your patients with excellent credit scores, and so will we. But according to TransUnion as many as 20% of the population have credit scores that many lenders consider mid-low range (540-640).
It is quick, easy to use, consumer and merchant friendly, and opens up a new avenue of potential patients for your practice.
Why do practices want it?
How do you determine if you are paying too much for your merchant services account? There are many confusing terms used by medical and dental practice credit card processors. The multitude of ways that merchant services providers charge for processing the cards used in your office is a deliberate tactic.
The simple way to know is to find your effective rate. It is a simple calculation that levels the playing field between all of your credit card processing suitors. Take all of the costs included in your statement (except lease payments for machines, we will cover that in a moment),
and divide that number by the total dollars processed that month. This is your true effective rate. (Example: $272 ÷ $9876 = 0.0275 or 2.75%). If this percentage is higher than 2% -- you may be paying too much.
